Dr. Jacqueline Bird, MBBS, DCH, DM (Paediatrics), is a founding member of Tapion Hospital and its second Medical Director-succeeding Dr Owen King. A pioneer in the development of its paediatric services, since the hospital’s inception, she has played a central role in establishing and growing a strong, patient-centered paediatric practice, contributing significantly to Tapion’s reputation for comprehensive family and child healthcare.
A highly respected paediatrician, Dr. Bird has combined decades of clinical expertise with a deep commitment to child health and advocacy. Her work at Tapion has been instrumental in shaping the delivery of paediatric care, ensuring high standards in both clinical practice and the overall patient experience for children and their families. In addition to her contributions at Tapion, Dr. Bird has held key leadership roles in Saint Lucia’s public health system, including Consultant Paediatrician at Victoria Hospital and leadership of the national Community Child Health Service. She is also a founding director of RISE (St. Lucia) Inc., an organization dedicated to youth development, and served as the first President of the Caribbean College of Paediatricians.
