Dr. Curby Dwaine Sydney, a native of St. Lucia, earned his medical degree at the Instituto Superior de Ciencas Medicas (Superior Institute of Medical Sciences) Camaguey, Cuba with academic distinction. He went on to participate in a Neurosurgery and Neuroradiology Observership at Taipei his rigorous residency training in Neurosurgery with academic distinction at the prestigious General Calixto Garcia University Hospital, Havana, Cuba. Dr. Nadia Samuel is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with extensive experience in women’s health across all stages of life. She obtained her MBBS degree from the University of the West Indies in 1995 and completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the United Kingdom, where she earned Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) 2001, and entered on the GMC specialist register in 2006.
Dr. Samuel has a special interest in menopause care, offering individualized, evidence-based management to support women through the menopausal transition and beyond.

Dr Kurlene Cenac completed her undergraduate medical degree at the Advanced Institute of Medical Sciences “Dr. Serafin Ruiz de Zarate Ruiz” in Santa Clara, Cuba. She returned to Saint Lucia in 2004 and after completing a year of Internship, worked with the Ministry of Health at Victoria Hospital for 5 years in the department of Internal Medicine. During that period, she was an active member of the SLMDA serving as Secretary and Vice President and also served on the Saint Lucia Medical and Dental Council.
Dr. Cenac subsequently pursued postgraduate studies in Internal Medicine at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica obtaining the DM in Internal Medicine in 2014. Upon completion, she worked with the British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority as an Internist in Tortola, BVI after which she commenced a 2-year clinical fellowship in Adult Cardiology at the University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada practicing at the University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. She completed a year of further subspecialty training in “Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology – Device Implantation” at the same institution.
Dr. Cenac is a member of the Caribbean Cardiac Society, the Association of Consultant Physicians of Jamaica, the American College of Physicians, the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, the Association of Black Cardiologists, the European Society of Cardiology and the American College of Cardiology.
She returned to Saint Lucia 6 years ago having gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
She is passionate about teaching younger physicians and empowering them to reach their fullest potential. She believes in offering the very best available care to every patient and strives to ensure that her entire healthcare team does the same. In the words of one of her trainees, she has zero tolerance for nonsense.
She works as a Consultant Internist and Cardiologist at OKEU Hospital, Victoria Hospital as needed and Tapion Hospitals as well as in her private practice located at Tapion Hospital – KCCardioMed INC, providing services to the people of Saint Lucia with a view to continue the ongoing mission to improve the quality of healthcare available to all of our people. Most recently, she was part of a historical moment for Saint Lucia, performing one of the first two coronary angiograms on island at Tapion Hospital along with Dr Romel Daniel who performed the other, under the proctorship of Dr. Julien Fabre of the CHU of Martinique.
When not at work, Dr. Cenac enjoys time with family and loved ones, singing, listening to music, reading a good book, watching a sunset (on the rare occasions that she leaves hospital before the sun goes down) and dancing latin music. She also enjoys empowering patients and persons in general with the knowledge and understanding to enable them to prevent,, or when already present, better manage chronic diseases and avoid their complications. As such she participates in public outreach programmes on radio, TV and in churches.
Dr. P. M. Font Aranda is a highly experienced medical professional with a diverse background in patient care and surgical specialties. He graduated as a General Practitioner in 1997, became a Family Doctor in 2003, and went on to qualify as an Ophthalmologist in 2007.
Dr. Font Aranda specializes in cataract surgery and oculoplastic procedures, delivering precise, patient-centered care. Throughout his career, he has practiced medicine in Venezuela and ophthalmology in Haiti, Ecuador, and China, giving him broad international experience and a deep understanding of diverse patient needs.
He remains committed to excellence in clinical practice, continuous learning, and improving the quality of life of every patient he serves.
Dr. Ndidi Dagbue is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Traumatologist at Tapion Hospital since 2011. Alongside his Tapion practice, he served at St. Jude Hospital (2001–2019), including as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Head of Orthopaedics (2003–2019) He earned his M.B.B.S. from the University of Benin and trained in Orthopaedic Surgery at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Lagos, where he completed Post graduate training and became a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS). Dr. Dagbue also completed a fellowship in Limb reconstruction at Hospital Ortopédico Docente “Frank País,” Havana. His clinical interests include fracture and polytrauma care, limb reconstruction, and sports and degenerative conditions of the shoulder, hip, and knee. He is known for patient‑centred, evidence‑based care and close collaboration with Tapion’s multidisciplinary team to deliver safe surgery, clear communication, and timely rehabilitation.

Dr Clarke obtained her medical degree at the faculty of medical sciences Las Tunas, Cuba in 2007. She then completed post graduate training in 2013, becoming Saint Lucia’s first native Nephrologist.
Since returning home, her focus has been not only on practising clinical Nephrology but campaigning for healthier lifestyles and prevention of Chronic kidney disease, given the significant social, psychological, biological and financial toll that this disease takes on individuals, families and communities.
Dr Clarke Was honoured by the International Society of Nephrology with with the 2023 Nephrology Pioneer Award for North America and the Caribbean.
She is multilingual, a member of numerous internal societies including being a distinguished fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, Patron of St Lucia Renal Association, member of the Saint Lucia Diabetes and Hypertension association and the Saint Lucia cancer society. Current president of the St Lucia Medical and Dental Association and former host of the SLMDA produced medical programme HEALTHWISE, which aimed to educate and sensitize the general public on a wide range of medical issues. She is also an avid sports fan, principally cricket, football and tennis.
