Guided by the principle of service above self, Sister Dixon devoted her life to nursing, driven by a deep commitment to patient care and community well-being. She began her career at Victoria Hospital, where she gained broad clinical experience across general wards, midwifery, and the operating theatre.

In 1996, following her retirement from the Government of Saint Lucia, she joined Tapion Hospital, marking the start of a transformative three-decade tenure. Embracing a more technologically advanced environment, she enhanced both her efficiency and standard of care.

At Tapion, Sister Dixon combined clinical excellence with strong leadership. She first served as Operating Room Manager before being appointed Nursing Director (1998–2022). In this role, she was instrumental in the hospital’s accreditation and led efforts to strengthen systems and procedures under her guiding philosophy: “Excellence—Procedure Protects People.”

After retiring in 2022, she continued to serve as a Consultant, focusing on leadership development, mentoring, and institutional strengthening. Throughout Tapion Hospital’s journey Sister Dixon has remained loyal helping to guide the organization through difficult financial and clinical times, including the  COVID Pandemic. Her work helped shape the procedural frameworks that guide the hospital today.

Sister Dixon takes great pride in Tapion Hospital’s growth, including the expansion of oncology, cardiology, and nephrology services. Now fully retired, she remains a dedicated advocate, supporting the hospital’s continued pursuit of excellence in healthcare.
